Overview

Mountains on
Three Sides, Water on One

Banyan Tree Yangshuo is the first and only elegant river-view hotel and spa resort on the Li River, its gardens laid out to evoke a traditional Chinese ink-wash painting.

The resort follows a san jin siheyuan design — a traditional three-courtyard quadrangle — incorporating small grey tiles, sloped roofs, whitewashed walls, hanging balconies and bluestone skirting drawn from northern Guangxi folk architecture. Its 141 suites and villas look out over a central pagoda lake, the river, or the mountains themselves, several with a private balcony, terrace or plunge pool. Set roughly 20 to 30 minutes from Yangshuo's lively West Street, the resort trades proximity to town for genuine seclusion, its outdoor pool positioned to overlook the Li River directly, with the karst peaks changing character at every angle, like a landscape that never stops reframing itself.

A Wellbeing Sanctuary. Guests can book the Retreat Wellbeing Villa, a 108-square-metre space enclosed by an oriental-tiled fence with personal yoga mats, exercise bands and singing bowls for private practice.
