A historic club in the foothills of Mount Kenya, where the equator crosses the lawn, the golf course and the tennis courts.

Overview
Snow on the Equator
Seventy-three rooms, suites and cottages in manicured grounds beneath Mount Kenya.
The Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club sits in the lush foothills of Mount Kenya at Nanyuki, and the equator runs directly through the property — there is a marker on the lawn, and the tennis courts straddle it. Accommodation spans 12 Fairmont rooms, 41 deluxe suites, 12 cottages, 8 garden suites and an Equator Suite with lines on the floor dividing the hemispheres. Every room has a fireplace, which the altitude justifies: evenings here are genuinely cold, and the snow on the peaks is visible from the gardens.
The only golf course that bisects the equator. The nine-hole course is the only one on the continent cut in half by the equator, which makes the scorecard more interesting than the handicap.
