Overview

A Trailblazing
Camp, Reimagined

Established in 1992 by safari pioneer Paul Oliver and now run by Asilia Africa, Oliver’s Camp anchors the wildlife-dense southern reaches of Tarangire National Park.

Tarangire's southern Silale Swamp area offers a genuine wilderness experience often missing from more heavily-trafficked parks. Oliver's Camp comprises fifteen tents across two wings — ten in the main wing and five in the smaller, more private wing formerly known as Little Oliver's — linked by a raised walkway and centred on a simple, stylish thatched mess with lounge and dining areas leading to a campfire. From August to October, Tarangire holds the highest concentration of mammals of any national park in Tanzania, as elephant herds and plains game gather around its dwindling water sources.
