North Malé Atoll, Maldives. Speedboat or seaplane transfer from Velana International Airport, Malé. Resort map and villa layout available at check-in.
Depart Nairobi aboard Emirates or Qatar Airways, connecting into Velana International Airport in Malé. Resort representatives greet you at arrivals and escort you to a waiting speedboat or seaplane for the transfer across the Indian Ocean to Centara Grand Lagoon Maldives. The transfer itself is part of the experience — the atoll's turquoise lagoons, white sand islands, and overwater villas coming into view across crystal-clear water. Check into your overwater villa: private sun deck, direct lagoon steps, and a view of nothing but ocean to the horizon. A romantic beachfront dinner beneath the stars and soft ocean breezes concludes the arrival.
The morning begins with one of the Maldives' most celebrated experiences — a floating breakfast served inside your private villa pool. Tropical fruits, freshly baked pastries, local juices, and champagne are arranged on a floating tray while you sit surrounded by turquoise water in complete privacy. The rest of the day is entirely without agenda: swim in the lagoon directly from your villa steps, rest on the private sun deck, kayak through the calm water, or simply lie on the beach and let the Maldivian sun do its work. Sunset cocktails at the overwater bar. Dinner under the stars.

A guided snorkelling safari explores the coral reef systems surrounding the resort. The Maldives' waters are consistently ranked among the world's clearest, and the reef ecosystem here is extraordinary — coral formations in every shape, reef fish in every colour, and the larger species that follow the currents along the atoll edge: manta rays with wingspans of four metres, hawksbill turtles moving unhurriedly through the coral, white-tipped reef sharks patrolling the deeper sections. Your guide points out species, explains the reef ecology, and leads you to the locations where the larger animals are most likely to appear. Return to the resort in time for lunch. Evening sunset cocktails and gourmet seafood dinner.
A full day dedicated to wellness. The resort's spa sits partially overwater, its treatment rooms opening to views of the lagoon — the sound of the ocean and the warmth of the tropical air forming part of the therapy itself. Your included spa treatment offers a choice of Balinese massage, aromatherapy, hot stone therapy, flower bath, or reflexology — each using island plant extracts and ingredients sourced from the surrounding ocean environment. After the treatment, the afternoon belongs to the pool, the private deck, or simply sleeping in the shade with the sound of the water beneath the villa floor. Dinner at the resort's signature overwater restaurant as the stars emerge above the atoll.
A luxury boat transfer carries you across the lagoon to a private sandbank — a crescent of white sand rising barely half a metre above the surface of the Indian Ocean, surrounded by nothing but turquoise water in every direction. White linen, champagne, a gourmet picnic prepared by the resort's kitchen, and personalised service set up exclusively for you. No other island is visible. The only sounds are the water lapping at the sand and the occasional call of a seabird. You stay as long as you like. This is the Maldives experience that photographs cannot capture: the particular feeling of standing on a sand bar in the middle of an ocean with a glass of champagne and nothing else required of you.

A luxury sailing vessel departs the resort in the late afternoon for a sunset cruise through the surrounding atoll. The Maldives is home to large populations of spinner dolphins, and they regularly appear alongside cruising vessels — leaping, spinning, and travelling in pods of twenty to fifty animals alongside the bow. As the sun descends toward the horizon, the sky transforms through shades of gold, orange, and deep red, reflected in the flat water of the Indian Ocean. Gourmet snacks and cocktails are served on deck. Live acoustic music adds to the atmosphere. It is one of those evenings that requires no particular activity to make it memorable.
For those who want to go faster — jet skis across the lagoon, paddleboards through the calm water between coral heads, kayaks exploring the further reaches of the atoll, and windsurfing with the trade winds. For those who prefer to go slower — a second snorkelling session, or simply floating in the warm water above the reef. Optional scuba diving experiences are available through the resort's dive centre for those who want to go deeper — the atoll wall descends steeply and offers encounters with larger pelagic species. The afternoon is at leisure. Dinner at the beach restaurant as the tide comes in.
A day with no fixed itinerary — the Maldives at its most essential. Optional yacht experiences and private photography sessions can be arranged through the resort. Additional spa treatments, the resort's beach club, infinity pools, and the particular pleasure of a day that asks nothing of you. For couples, a private candlelit dinner on the beach can be arranged — a table set at the water's edge, lanterns in the sand, a personalised menu, and the sound of the Indian Ocean as background music. This evening is designed around whatever you most want from your final nights in paradise.
The final full day on the island is given entirely to your own preferences — one last snorkel, one last float in the villa pool, one last morning watching the light change on the lagoon. As evening falls, a private farewell dinner is arranged on the beach: a table set with lantern décor, soft music, flowers, and a personalised menu created by the resort's chefs. Waves arrive gently along the shoreline. The night sky over the Maldives, this far from any light pollution, is extraordinary. It is an evening designed to close the journey with the same quality of attention to detail that has characterised every day of it.
A final tropical breakfast at the resort before speedboat or seaplane transfers escort you back to Velana International Airport in Malé, timed precisely to connect with your international return flights to Nairobi. Nine nights in the Indian Ocean conclude.
