1. Who we are

Finders & Keepers Safaris (“we”, “us”) designs and arranges journeys from Nairobi, Kenya. This policy explains how we handle the personal information you give us through finderskeeperssafaris.com, by email, or by WhatsApp. We are responsible for that information under Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019.

You can reach us about anything in this policy at info@finderskeeperssafaris.com.

2. What we collect

Information you give us

  • Enquiries and quote requests: your name, phone or WhatsApp number, email address (optional), number of travellers, preferred travel date, what you are interested in, the journey you enquired about, and anything you tell us about your plans.
  • Service requests (private jets, layover safaris, flight arrangements, city tours, airport fast-track): the details above plus trip details you enter, such as airports, flight numbers, arrival and departure dates and times, destinations and preferences.
  • Journal / newsletter sign-ups: your email address and, in the footer form, your first and last name.
  • Messages you send us by email or WhatsApp.

When you go on to book, we will also ask for what suppliers need, such as names as they appear on passports, dates of birth, nationality, and dietary or medical requirements. We collect these separately and only for the trip. Please do not put passport numbers or health details into the website forms.

Information collected automatically

Like any website, our hosting and security providers may log technical details of each visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device and the pages requested. If we have switched on our spam check (Cloudflare Turnstile), it may use technical information from your browser to tell people from automated programs.

We do not ask for payment card details on this website.

3. Why we use your information

  • To reply to your enquiry, prepare a quote and discuss your trip (you asked us to).
  • To arrange and manage a booking, including sharing the details suppliers need (to carry out our agreement with you).
  • To send you our Journal and travel inspiration, if you signed up (your consent, which you can withdraw at any time).
  • To keep the website secure and stop spam and abuse (our legitimate interest in running a safe service).
  • To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising profiles.

4. Who we share it with

  • Service providers that run our website and email: Hostinger (website hosting and our business email), Supabase (the secure database where form submissions are stored), and Cloudflare (spam check, when switched on). They process information on our behalf and only to provide those services. Our pages also load typefaces from Google Fonts, which means Google can see your IP address when a page loads.
  • Travel suppliers such as lodges, camps, airlines, charter operators, guides, drivers, insurers and visa agents, but only the details needed to arrange the trip you ask us for.
  • Authorities, when the law requires it.

If you contact us through a WhatsApp or email link, that service’s own privacy policy also applies to your message.

5. Where it is stored

Our providers may store and process information outside Kenya. For example, our database is hosted in Ireland (European Union). Where information leaves Kenya, we use providers that protect it to a standard comparable to the Data Protection Act, 2019.

6. How long we keep it

We keep enquiry information only as long as it is needed to answer you and follow up, and then delete or anonymise it. For travellers who book, we keep booking records for as long as accounting, tax and legal rules require. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

Our website does not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. If a form submission cannot be sent (for example, your connection drops), your browser keeps a small temporary copy so it can try again later, and removes it once it has been sent. If we add analytics or similar tools in future, we will update this page and ask for your consent where the law requires.

8. Your rights

You have the right to be told how we use your information, to ask for a copy of it, to have mistakes corrected, to have it deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to receive it in a usable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time, for example by asking us to remove you from the Journal list. To use any of these rights, email info@finderskeeperssafaris.com. We may need to confirm who you are first.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to Kenya’s Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (odpc.go.ke). We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

9. Keeping it safe

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections, access controls on our database, and limiting who can see enquiries. No online service can promise absolute security, so please take care what you send by email.

10. Children

This website is for adults planning travel. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 except details of children travelling with a booking, which a parent or guardian gives us.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
