Overview
Kanazawa's Craft, Reframed
Since opening in December 2022, The Hotel Sanraku Kanazawa has become known as much for its striking six-storey indoor waterfall as for its position steps from Omicho Market, the city's famous food bazaar.
All 215 rooms, including 13 suites, feature a distinctive byobu-style folding-screen headboard, a design detail drawing directly on Kanazawa's centuries-old tradition of decorative screens, gold leaf and lacquerware. Suite and Club Room guests gain access to the hotel's Club Lounge — reputed to be the finest of its kind in the wider Hokuriku region — offering house-made sweets, local sake and quiet space away from the bustle of the market outside. Kanazawa itself, largely spared the bombing of the Second World War, retains an unusually intact historic core, and the hotel's location puts Kanazawa Castle Park, Kenrokuen Garden and the geisha district of Higashi Chaya-gai all within an easy walk.
One of Kanazawa's newest five-star hotels. Opened in December 2022, The Hotel Sanraku Kanazawa is among the city's most recently built luxury hotels, replacing an older property on the same well-located site beside Omicho Market.
