Birthday
A significant birthday spent somewhere that makes the number irrelevant.
The Occasion
A week beats an evening.
Milestone birthdays have an awkwardness to them. A party puts the person being celebrated in front of a room, which not everybody wants, and the day is over in an evening. A journey spreads the occasion across a week and puts the attention on the experience rather than on the age.
We arrange the day itself properly: a balloon flight at dawn, a private dinner set up somewhere unexpected, Maasai warriors performing traditional songs and dance around the table, and a cake that comes out the way a birthday cake should — with the full chorus. Almost everyone wants to be sung to on their birthday, whatever they claim beforehand.
Tell us what they would actually like all the same. For the handful who genuinely prefer it quieter, we still mark the moment properly — a lion at first light and dinner under a tree instead of a crowd — just without the singing.

What We Build In
Planned to the last detail, celebrated properly.
The day itself planned in detail, to the person's own taste — not a default template.
Balloon flights, private dinners and bush breakfasts arranged well in advance.
Maasai warriors performing traditional songs and dance around the table, when the setting and camp allow for it.
Camp teams briefed beforehand, so nothing needs organising on the day itself.
The full chorus by default — toned down only for the few who genuinely prefer it that way.
Journeys That Suit This
The raw material for a proper celebration.
Journeys with a balloon at dawn, a private dinner, or an island to finish on already built in.
Tell us who, and what they'd actually like.
The fuss, or a quiet lion at dawn — either way, we'll build the day around the person being celebrated.
