Tanzania is home to some of Africa's greatest natural spectacles. From the endless plains of the Serengeti to the wildlife-rich floor of the Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania offers safari experiences that have inspired explorers, filmmakers, and conservationists for generations.
The Serengeti remains one of the world's most celebrated wildlife ecosystems, hosting the Great Migration — an annual movement of millions of wildebeest and zebra across predator-filled plains. Nearby, the Ngorongoro Crater creates an extraordinary sanctuary where wildlife thrives within the walls of an ancient volcanic caldera. Tarangire's giant elephant herds, Lake Manyara's tree-climbing lions, and the remote wilderness of Ruaha further showcase the country's remarkable diversity.
Beyond the mainland, the spice-scented islands of Zanzibar provide the perfect conclusion to a safari, with white-sand beaches, turquoise waters and rich Swahili heritage. At Finders & Keepers Safaris, we believe Tanzania is safari Africa in its most iconic form — and every journey we design here is built to bring you face to face with that iconic spirit, from the Great Migration's thunder to the quiet of a Zanzibar sunset.
This twelve-day journey follows one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on earth — the Great Migration of more than 1.5 million wildebeest, zebra and gazelle across the plains of Tanzania. From the elephant and baobab landscapes of Tarangire to the volcanic grandeur of the Ngorongoro Crater, the endless golden plains of the central Serengeti and the dramatic river crossings of the north, this circuit is the definitive East African safari, combining legendary wildlife with exceptional camps and intimate small-group access.

This is not merely a safari. This is a pilgrimage to one of Africa's most iconic landscapes — the Serengeti. A place where horizons stretch to infinity, where the earth trembles beneath the hooves of countless animals, and where every sunrise feels painted by the hand of a master. Over eleven extraordinary days, The Serengeti Grandeur moves from the historic coastal city of Dar es Salaam into the exclusive wilderness of the Serengeti. First, four days at Mwiba Lodge — a masterpiece of organic architecture on a 125,000-acre private concession where no other vehicles exist. Then, deeper into the central Serengeti at Serengeti Explorer Elewana, where the classic safari experience unfolds alongside the Seronera River. Every meal, every flight, every sundowner, every hot air balloon ride, every photograph — included in one single, transparent price. No hidden costs. Only the journey.

This is not a safari for the casual traveller. This is a journey for those who have already seen the Serengeti — and who now seek something deeper, wilder, more remote. Over fourteen extraordinary days, The Untamed Sanctuaries moves through three of Tanzania's least-visited wilderness areas: Ruaha National Park, where predator densities rival the Serengeti but crowds do not; Nyerere National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where walking safaris and boat safaris reveal the African bush from entirely different perspectives; and Mahale Mountains National Park, where habituated chimpanzees live in the wild forests cascading down to the turquoise shores of Lake Tanganyika. Three extraordinary lodges. Every detail anticipated. Every meal, drink, flight, activity and photograph included in one single, transparent price. No hidden costs. No surprises. Only the journey.

Nyaboro Hills, South-Central Serengeti
Opened in 2024 on the grounds of the former Serengeti Sopa Lodge and entirely reimagined, Serengeti Explorer is Elewana’s newest and largest Serengeti property. It sits high on the Nyaboro Hills escarpment in one of the park’s most central yet private positions — within reach of the Moru Kopjes, the Great Migration corridors, and strong resident game year-round.
Seventy Luxury Explorer Rooms and five Savannah Suites are arranged across elevated tiers, each opening onto a private balcony over the plains, with rain-shower bathrooms, solar-heated water, four interconnecting rooms and two wheelchair-accessible rooms. The scale buys facilities rarely found this deep in the bush: a 35-metre infinity pool, a resident astronomer, and the Serengeti’s first purpose-built photographic hide, set beside a waterhole at eye level with whatever comes to drink.
Beyond the game drives, guests can track the Moru Kopjes black rhino — the only black rhino found within the Serengeti — alongside park rangers, or walk the terrain around the lodge on foot. Seronera airstrip is around 45 minutes away.
