Sri Lanka is a land of extraordinary diversity, where ancient civilizations, untamed wilderness, scenic highlands and golden coastlines combine to create one of Asia's most captivating destinations. Compact yet incredibly varied, the island offers an unparalleled journey through culture, wildlife, history and natural beauty.
Travelers can walk through the ruins of ancient kingdoms that once ruled the Indian Ocean trade routes, climb iconic rock fortresses such as Sigiriya that rise dramatically above the surrounding landscape, and visit sacred temples that have drawn pilgrims for centuries. The country's central highlands offer a completely different experience, where emerald tea plantations blanket rolling hills and scenic train journeys wind through mist-covered mountains and picturesque valleys.
Wildlife enthusiasts will find some of the finest safari experiences outside Africa — national parks home to elephants, leopards, sloth bears, crocodiles and hundreds of bird species, while the surrounding oceans offer encounters with blue whales and dolphins. At Finders & Keepers Safaris, we believe Sri Lanka's greatest strength is its ability to offer multiple worlds within a single journey: from ancient temples to wildlife safaris, mountain retreats to luxury beach resorts, every itinerary here feels endlessly rewarding and remarkably authentic.

Bogawantalawa Valley, Hill Country
Ceylon Tea Trails is not a hotel so much as four early twentieth-century tea planters’ bungalows, each restored and each still standing on a working estate in the Bogawantalawa Valley — known locally as the Golden Valley of Tea for its part in building the Ceylon tea industry.
Each bungalow keeps its original character, and guests can move between all four during a single stay, walking or driving between estates as the days go. Meals are served in the tradition of the original planters’ households: the bungalow dining room, afternoon tea on the veranda, picnic lunches carried out onto the estate walks.
At over 1,200 metres, the climate is cool and often misty — a genuine relief after the coast, and the reason the British planted here in the first place. Days run to walks through the tea gardens, a tour of a working factory from green leaf to finished Ceylon black, and long viewpoints over hills that are green in every direction.
