The Seychelles archipelago sits in the western Indian Ocean like a geological accident of extraordinary beauty — 115 islands of ancient Precambrian granite and coral, their massive boulders tumbling into the sea, their interiors covered in primeval forest that has survived entirely unchanged for millennia. Unlike the low-lying coral atolls that dominate most of the tropical Indian Ocean, the inner Seychelles islands rise steeply from the water, their forested ridges giving way to deserted coves of the finest white sand, where the sea shifts through every shade between pale aquamarine and deep sapphire.
Anse Lazio on Praslin, Anse Source d'Argent on La Digue, and the private island of North Island consistently rank among the finest beaches on the planet. But the Seychelles offers far more than its coastline: the Vallée de Mai on Praslin is a UNESCO World Heritage primeval forest where the Coco de Mer palm grows wild — its fruits the largest seeds of any plant in the world — and where the Black Parrot, found nowhere else on Earth, calls through the canopy. The marine environment is equally extraordinary: whale sharks gather seasonally in the outer atolls, sea turtles nest on the beaches of Aldabra, and the coral gardens of the inner islands teem with life.
At Finders & Keepers Safaris, we believe the Seychelles rewards the traveler who moves between the inner and outer island groups — combining the luxury villa resorts of Mahé and Praslin with private yacht charters through the remote Amirantes atolls, helicopter transfers to isolated island lodges, and encounters with Aldabra's giant tortoises on beaches where no other guests will ever arrive. Every journey we craft here is designed to put you into the Seychelles that most visitors never reach.

Anse Takamaka, Praslin Island
Raffles occupies the gentle slopes above Anse Takamaka on Praslin, the Seychelles’ second-largest island. Villas are terraced up the hillside rather than lined along a beach, which means every one of them has an uninterrupted view of the Indian Ocean, its own infinity-edge pool, and an open-air rain shower set in a private garden courtyard.
Praslin is the right base for the inner islands. The UNESCO-listed Vallée de Mai — the prehistoric palm forest where the Coco de Mer grows and the endangered Seychelles black parrot still lives — is a short drive away. So are Anse Lazio and Anse Georgette, two of the most photographed beaches anywhere. Boat crossings to La Digue and Curieuse leave from close by.
Service runs on dedicated villa hosts who handle dining, excursions and the daily small things. Mahé is fifteen minutes away by helicopter, or a short scheduled domestic flight — which makes this an easy second half to a two-island Seychelles journey.
